As teachers to be, we are supposed to be a an extra-miler. Yes, extra-miler, it's because we are doing multifarious functions in order to provide good teaching-learning process. It is our nature to be creative enough in the teaching profession. Through the cone of experience by Edgar Dale, we can now use various techniques and strategies so that we may be able to promote students learning.The Cone of experience is categorized into three, the enactive, iconic and lastly symbolic. It is in our preference as teachers what to used in the lesson proper. For an instance, if we like to introduce the English alphabet to our pupils, we can use the symbolic for them to easily grasp the lesson we are trying to input to them. We should also consider the situation of the classroom setting so that we may be able to apply the right strategy for the class.
As you can observed that direct purposeful experience is being placed at the bottom part of the cone. It is because it is the level that proposed to the idea of " learning by doing". Hence, we can conclude that it is the basic part of the cone in which it is effectively used. However, the peak part of the cone is the verbal. Because it is used to determine the capacity of how the students have learn. So, we can say that Cone of Experience is really a big help in part of the teachers.
