LESSON 9:TEACHING WITH DRAMATIZED EXPERIENCES

Using dramatized experiences in teaching is somewhat sounds interesting and challenging in the part of the learners. Through using this kind of strategy, students may be able to enhance and create self-confidence towards their participation in the class. Also, teachers may recognize the talents and abilities of his/her students. Knowledge acquisition can be easily acquired with the aid of  dramatized experiences because learners at this time are not just merely a passive learners, but an active learner instead. So then, what are the different forms of dramatized experiences?

We can categorize this experiences into two categories, we have the first one, formal  plays which include plays itself, pageants and tableau. These are considered as formal forms of dramatized experiences for the reason they are usually require much effort, it needs preparation and lastly they are a bit expensive. Plays-depict life, character and culture. This open great opportunity to portray the scenarios of some civilization before. Pageants-this is somewhat related to the local history using or with the aid of local actors. Tableau-this word comes from the French term which means " picture ". This is a picture-like scene that the performers where playing against the background.

Pantomime, puppets and role-playing, these are the rest of the forms of dramatized experiences. These are usually seen or observed in a classroom setting in which students may be able to portray this on time because these doesn't require much time and effort. Pantomime-it is an act of conveying a story through bodily movements. Puppets-there are many kinds of puppets and these are use to show certain scenario related to the subject topic. And lastly, the most abused type of dramatized experience, Role-playing-this is unprepared and unrehearsed type of dramatic experiences.

All in all, dramatized experiences are the affective  domain of the teaching-learning process for it focuses on the active participation  of the learners.
